  3. The rivalry between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals known as the Show-Me State rivalry was a rivalry concocted mainly because both teams are from the state of Missouri. The first meeting between the two teams was in the 1985 World Series in which the Royals (unfortunately) won four games to the Cardinals three. But if you look at the regular season, the two teams have had 80 appearances. The Cardinals have won 46 of these games compared to the Royals 34. So if you had to break down this series, which team truly is the better team in the rivalry? The one who won a World Series (Royals) or the one who won more games (Cardinals)?

  4. I think it is silly to compare meaningless regular season games with a world series championship trophy. Regardless, the Kansas City Royals, before this year, have not made the playoffs for 28 straight seasons (give or take). Is there any better example of "worst to first" in sports?

  5. I have an interesting statistic that supports why the the Royals will win the world series. In the history of baseball there have been 5 teams, besides the Royals, that have won three extra inning post season games in a row. All five of these teams have gone on to win the world series. So statistically speaking the Royals should win the world series.

  6. I too believe the Kansas City Royals will win the World Series. As of October 8th, 2014 the Royals had the highest odds to win the World Series at 35.9% compared to the Cardinals at 25.3%, the Giants at 22.5%, and the Orioles at 16.1%. If the odds aren’t enough to convince you maybe the Royals speed will. The Royals led the MLB in steals with 153, while the three other teams had 157 combined. The Royals also were 3rd in the MLB in infield hits with 141. Then you can’t forget about their bullpen. There will probably only be four relief pitchers coming out of the bullpen from now on for the Royals. Wade Davis, Kelvin Herrera, Greg Holland, and Brandon Finnegan all have ERA under 1.45 and have been able to not give up the home run ball for the most part. Lastly, they are clutch, as everybody knows from their extra inning victories earlier in this post-season. This clutch factor has given them an extraordinary amount of confidence and momentum. Everyone on the Royals believes they are going to win it all, and they are playing like it, having not lost in this post-season yet.

  7. It will be a very interesting World Series now that it is San Francisco facing off against Kansas City. Personally, as a Cubs fan, it was nice to see St. Louis exit when they did, even though an all Missouri Series would have been cool to see. It is crazy to think that Oakland almost beat Kansas City in the Wild Card game, and that close win has seemed to spark the Royals. Baseball is about getting hot at the right time, and that is definitely something the Royals have done. I am definitely excited to see a Bumgarner-Shields match up if they can both be ready for game 1.

  8. I have to agree with Teddy that the Giants are traitors for leaving New York in 1957 and I can't cheer for a team like that. Although the Cardinals fell short this season, at least there's still a team to represent Missouri. Go Royals!

  9. I do not know about baseball game but I know about some team accepted many player from different countries. LA scouts two pitchers from Korea and they have a good game. In the spots filed there is no traitors because the player moving around to condition. Always to change winner and player exchanged.
